Summer Series on Solomon
King Solomon!
What does the name bring to mind?
Wisdom?
Riches?
Dividing babies?
Proverbs?
Ecclesiastes?
Song of Solomon?
This summer, we will be studying the life of this ruler of Israel, the last king of a united kingdom.
Frederick Buechner writes in his book, Peculiar Treasures, that Solomon…
Was a product of the scandalous liaison between King David and Uriah’s wife Bathsheba
Was brought up in that hot-bed of oriental intrigue
Spent his formative years under the thumb of his beautiful but conniving mother
Was the first of the big time spenders
Put up a Temple in Jerusalem that had to be seen to be believed…
and the amount of gold they used to
trim it inside and out would have bankrupted Fort Knox
Had 699 or more wives…the daughter of Pharoah was not his only wife
Was famous for his great wisdom
He was a man of contradictions and I hope you can join us in the journey through his life.

We Missed You!

- Email a picture to the office at ebcabc@twcny.rr.com. Be sure to include the names of those in the picture from left to right
- Bring in a picture to the church office for us to scan. Be sure to include the names of those in the picture from left to right
- Come to the library after church on Sunday, June 26 and let us take your picture.
The purpose of the pictorial is to help us put names with the faces we see in and around church- a way to get to know each other better. Please do your part to make this a successful project.
Thanks and God bless.
